In December 2023, eight of our student members visited the Bay Area during Winter Recess. While traveling, we visited with public agencies and private firms, bonded with other ITE student chapters, and grew as a team. This article is part of a longer series documenting the trip.
Supported in part by funding from the ITE Western District Connections Grant, our chapter organized a day-long event with the Cal ITE and UC Davis ITE chapters on Sunday, December 17th.
We kicked off the day by meeting our friends at Mezzo, where we enjoyed delicious sandwiches, salads, and soup. Conversation topics included pertinent ITE discussions such as chapter management and recruitment strategies, event planning, and inter-chapter collaboration, as well as transportation trivia & debates, frequent flyer program tricks, and academic/career plans.
We then ventured into Moe’s Bookstore and naturally found ourselves huddled around the urban development and transportation sections.
Craving dessert, we picked up some Belgian waffles and then headed to Twin Peaks, where we appreciated the stunning city views.
We then took the MUNI bus and light rail to Chinatown, where we enjoyed another meal with our friends. We closed the night with some downtown exploring.
Thank you to ITE Western District for their support of this event through the awarding of a 2023-2024 Connections Grant to USC ITE!
